The basik.003 rollerball pen is our most current iteration of our flagship pen designed and manufactured with the intention of being carried in the pocket or purse of everyone that uses a pen. The basik.003 is being released with a capped production run of 450 pens. The basik.003 features a design based loosely around several older aesthetics used on our Karas Pen Co pens and unreleased prototype designs. The lower “grip” area features five concentric machined rings that are reference the EDK pen but are deeper, wider, and slightly rounded compared to the source. The tip sports a deeper machining pass than the grip and a rounded, traditional tip look. The central portion of the basik.003 has the same deeper machining profile as the tip, and the upper body, near the clip, shows five very light concentric machined rings providing a symmetry of design with the grip. The surface itself has the light, fine rings present similar to the basik.001 which allows us to machine the pens faster and provide a uniform finish. Virtually failure-free and requiring minimal maintenance, the basik.003 rollerball pen is a true everyday carry pen.

Everyday Karas unofficially launched on social media in 2017 via collaborations with EDC (everyday carry) small makers and influencers, Everyday Karas is now officially launched via this webstore and corresponding social media platforms. Everyday Karas is a return to the foundation of machined writing instruments designed and manufactured for everyday carry use. Designs take a step back from complexity of form to focus more fully on function. Everyday Karas products will feature minimal parts in an effort to reduce failures and maintenance while focusing on streamlining the manufacturing process with the use of our CNC machining technology. Minimalism and simplicity are NOT the goal; rather they are two reference points as we journey back to the basics of our design language and process will shape the product and categories Everyday Karas focuses on. Everyday Karas will redefine the durable writing instrument for everyday carry use by first identifying what an everyday carry pen "needs" to accomplish. The design and manufacturing will follow suit benefiting heavily from the advances we’ve made in the last thirteen years.

Karas Pen Co is the sister-company of Everyday Karas, founded in 2008 under the Karas Kustoms, LLC formation, and later rebranded Karas Pen Co in 2016. Karas Pen Co began designing and manufacturing pens in 2011 that were initially launched via multiple successful Kickstarter campaigns. Over time, Karas Pen Co migrated away from crowd-funding new pens designs, and focused solely on launching new products directly via the Karas Pen Co website. Karas Pen Co designs focus on machined pens, primarily made out of aluminum, brass, and copper with designs that appeal to a variety of customers from the EDC community to the fountain pen community. Karas Pen Co features a vast array of styles, colors, materials, pen types, refill compatibility, and features that make up a vast and growing collection of products and models. The 003 is an excellent pen! The grip feels great and the rings near the clip are a really nice touch! Congrats on another fantastic design!

Basik 003 is a great pen, one of my favorite to write with. It is comfortable and has good grip to it. I cut a plastic spacer and put an Easyflow 9000 parker style refill inside. You just can’t go wrong for $29.00, full of value.

I was concerned with the Delrin possibly working loose the bolt portion but has been tight every time I check it. Ended up subscribing to their program to get future pens after loving 002 and 003 so much. (004 is great too).
